About 3DC Aero
3DC Aero was built from a simple idea: high-performance aerodynamic equipment shouldn’t be limited to the pros or come with a premium price tag.
My name is Dougie Cowan, and I’m a senior mechanical engineering student at Michigan State University with an aerospace concentration. As a competitive triathlete, I’ve spent years chasing marginal gains - both in training and in equipment. That firsthand experience is what drives everything behind 3DC Aero.
Every product starts with a real problem I’ve encountered on the bike. Whether it’s improving airflow at the front end, optimizing bottle placement, or integrating storage without compromising aerodynamics, the goal is always the same: make athletes faster, more efficient, and more comfortable.
Using CAD, iterative prototyping, and 3D printing, I design and test components that balance performance, practicality, and accessibility. Unlike mass-produced products, many 3DC Aero parts are customizable to your exact setup—because fit and integration matter just as much as aerodynamics.
This isn’t just a business - it’s a constant engineering project fueled by curiosity, racing, and the pursuit of speed.
